Uttendorf lies in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park - between Kitzbühel and Zell am See/Kaprun. Uttendorf is the third largest township in the Salzburg County district of Pinzgau and covers an area of around 168 km², of which approx. 43km² lie within the boundaries of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The village lies 800 metres above sea level. In 1969 Uttendorf was awarded its own coat of arms by the federal state government in Salzburg. The coat of arms depicts 2 major symbols which have paid a major role in the village’s history; quartz (the largest found deposit in the Alps with a total weight of 1.622 kg) and a rotor turbine referring to the national railway’s hydroelectric power plant in Stubachtal.

| The lake in Uttendorf has a surface area of 50.000 m² and gives adults and children the chance to take a cooling dip, splash around and have fun or simply relax on the well kempt bathing lawns on hot summer days. The hours will simply fly by as your children whizz down the long water slide, climb on the swimming iceberg, or swing on the vines.
